Cabin air is some of the driest air the skin will ever encounter. Humidity in a long-haul cabin is lower than most deserts. A normal moisturiser cannot keep up · the water is being pulled out faster than the cream can hold it in.
Skip the moisturiser. Apply a hydrating face mask instead. Most hydrating masks are designed to sit on the skin for fifteen to twenty minutes, but on a flight there is no harm in leaving it longer. Wash it off about an hour before you land · long-haul especially, where you may have worn it for half the flight. The skin lands hydrated. The face that arrives at customs is the face you wanted to arrive with.
